A lot of people reach out to me with questions surrounding cancer.

There is a ton of information out there of how you can handle, manage or even beat cancer with nutrition.  I’m going to give you a few tips on how to prevent or handle a diagnosis of cancer.

#1  Do not attempt to handle it yourself!  This is your life that we are talking about.  Seek out a medical professional that is an expert in this area.  Whether they are traditional or non-traditional, make sure they have a proven track record and has a full knowledge of the current research.

#2  Eliminate Animal Products such as meat. I cannot stress this enough. You can start by staying away from animal products and I’ll tell you why that’s so important. There’s a myth that you need animal protein to get adequate amounts of protein. That is false.   Not only are you getting a lot of the pesticides and chemicals along with the bad hormones that’s coming from the animals that are being slaughtered under distress, but all animal protein increases a factor called IGF-1 which is an insulin-like growth factor. IGF-1 has been shown by many studies (I have included some of these studies below) that they actually increase tumor progression. What does that mean? That means that when you eat meat it increases IGF-1 and stimulates tumor production and causes tumors to either develop or grow bigger. So just by cutting out meat alone is going to decrease your chances of tumors growing and allows your immune system to attack the tumor or possibly even tumor regression. But again, this is not a cure! This is a strategy to give your body every advantage that it needs to help prevent the cancer in the first place.

#3  Nutrition is key! Be sure to  fill your diet with nutritious vegetables and live whole foods, specifically cruciferous vegetables. Cruciferous vegetables have been shown in studies to decrease cancer rates, specifically breast cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer and the list goes on. Some examples of cruciferous vegetables are:

  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Cabbage
  • Kale
  • All of the green leafy vegetables that have tons of micronutrients, phytochemicals, vitamins, and minerals – the things that your body needs to prevent cancer.

By eliminating the things that are promoting cancer and fill your body with things that are going to fight it, you will drastically decrease the odds of getting cancer and increase the odds of you living a long healthy life full of VITALITY.
