Vitality Radio | With our Special guest Gail Daugherty of Pain Free Dallas acupuncture
Gail admits her own amount of skepticism associated with acupuncture prior to actually seeking treatment. Once faced with the threat of surgery to correct ligament damage in her shoulder from a previous competitive swimming career where the pain progressed to a debilitating state before she was finally willing to try anything, including acupuncture therapy.
After a series of treatments and experiencing the miraculous healing benefits herself, Gail was hooked. She in fact realized her own passion, and after a time chose to leave her career in finance to pursue acupuncture professionally. To this day, she still gets excited by the infinite organizing power within the body to heal itself. This energy is felt while Gail describes treating and educating her clients.
Gail Daugherty, LAc, MAcOM, MBA, Dipl. OM (NCCAOM®)
Clinic Director and Licensed Acupuncturist at Cooper Fitness & Spa Craig Ranch
Gail was a skeptic. Suffering for several years with severe shoulder pain Gail turned down a fellow triathlete suggestion that she try Acupuncture. She thought the needles would hurt and didn’t believe that tiny needles could make a difference. It took another year of limited range of motion, severe pain, trouble sleeping and the threat of surgery before she finally searched for and found an Acupuncturist she could trust.
To her surprise the needles didn’t hurt. She was completely pain free within four months and the experience was relaxing and improved her sleep. Wanting to provide people with another option in pain management and injury recovery, Gail earned her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree.
After becoming a Licensed Acupuncturist she opened a clinic in the Chicago Suburbs inside an orthopedic surgery and physical therapy center. Thousands of people have benefited from her specialized, pain free technique that can begin to reduce pain in just two needles.
Dr. Charles Frank, orthopedic surgeon at Complete Orthopedic (sic) Care wrote, “Gail Daugherty saw several of my patients directly after surgical management. As the medications wore off, the patients would often experience pain. Gail’s technique soothed them and left them with less discomfort and the patients were more relaxed. I feel the acupuncture treatments were beneficial and would help many.”
Wanting to live near her parents, Gail relocated to the Dallas area in 2011 and opened her own clinic. After a year she was asked by the General Manager and Dr. Kenneth Cooper to open her clinic inside Cooper Fitness and Spa at Craig Ranch. She maintains a busy clinic schedule helping relieve pain, improve injury recovery and reduce stress.
In addition to working internationally, she has taught at Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine and is a contributing editor for Outdoor Competitor Magazine.
Her gentle technique could change your life.
